The Griffey’s
Although Ken Griffey Sr. is most famous for raising a hall of fame son, his baseball career was well lived. Playing for just about 20 years in the big leagues for the Reds, Yankees, Braves and Mariners. Appearing in 3 All star games and was a two-time World Series Champion. He was no scrub on the diamond. I do believe his biggest success on the field, was holding a career long enough to play with his son. Their biggest moment together was when they hit the infamous back to back home runs. That moment will go down as one of the most iconic in the sports history.
Ken Griffey stats are, let’s say, more extensive than his fathers. Besides playing with his father, Ken Griffey Jr became one of the most feared hitters in the game of baseball, with a lefty swing that hitters still try to emulate to this day. Some even argue the fact that he was the face of baseball in the 90’s. Winning an Al MVP award, 10 Gold Gloves, 7 Silver Slugger Awards, and was a four-time home run champion. Lets keep in mind, the fact that he made 13 All-Star appearances. Ken Griffey Jr. was a number 1 pick and did not disappoint with a Major League career that is still talked about today. Ken Griffey Jr. was also just voted into the Hall of Fame in the year 2016, receiving 99% of the votes.
